For this project, Montrose Regional Hospital, we utilized 12-gauge Corten A606 weathering steel, chosen for its natural rust-red patina that will develop over time. Collaborating closely with the architect, we coordinated a precise layout for each panel, uniquely generating an image pattern that brings the architect’s vision to life. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, our Perforated Graphics Imaging (PGI) technique allowed us to recreate this stunning landscape, connecting the hospital to its community’s natural beauty. The result is a facade that not only reflects the local scenery but also adds a dynamic, evolving character to the building over the years.
