ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assist with managing a wide range of complex construction project tasks from start to finish with little supervision
  2. In support of the project management team ensure all construction specifications & schedules are met
  3. Identify potential conflicts and negotiate best solutions
  4. Being the main point of contact for assigned scope of work
  5. Take the lead on project kickoffs, hand offs and autopsy meetings with the project team
  6. Develop, track and negotiate change orders
  7. Responsible for time, cost and overall project performance
  8. Study & demonstrate knowledge of the M1 system at the operational level
  9. Coordinate & follows up on assignments within a multi-disciplined team of professionals
  10. Knowledgeable in reading & interpreting architectural designs/plans
  11. Possess an analytical mind, be a strategic thinker, & enjoy a challenge
  12. Ability to track all aspects of assigned project including resources, budgets, changes & timelines

ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  •  Knowledge in metal roofing, single skin, plate panel, and/or custom metal work preferred

Duties

  • Create or modify detailed, three-dimensional construction models of building envelope assemblies based on 3d architectural and structural files
  • Parametric (Grasshopper based) script modelling and fabrication design for roof and facades assemblies and components
  • Work in collaboration with architects, engineers, and other designers to create models and assist with design
  • Work with sale department to develop preliminary 3d models and take-offs
  • Calculation of material quantities and release of materials for fabrication by our manufacturing facility

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience supporting architectural or construction work for commercial building projects (building envelope, excluding utilities), with knowledge of sheet metal systems used in metal roofing and wall panel applications, is strongly preferred.

  • Converting 3d design geometry into fabrication ready components (CNC ready files for flattened parts, etc.)

Responsibilities

Responsible for translating architectural parametric designs into fully realized products that align precisely with the intended architectural vision, using tools such as Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Revit, and AutoCAD. Communicate design intent with architects while also understanding the practical considerations and working styles of the tradespeople responsible for installing the final fabricated systems. Determine the appropriate panel thickness (gauge) based on complex radii and structural considerations such as live loads, wind loads, and dead loads. Coordinate with structural engineers to ensure compatibility between primary and secondary framing systems and project design requirements. Select raw materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, zinc, copper, titanium, steel) that align with architectural design intent.
